Derek Symer is Partner, Business Development Leader, Vice President at AHT Insurance. Derek brings two decades of experience and a unique understanding of insurance and risk management to his clients. His passion for this sector drives his continued knowledge sharing and gives him valuable insight into the multitude of risks facing organizations today — ranging from management and professional liability to international risks. Derek is also a frequent speaker on issues relating to cyber liability and insurance.  

Outside of AHT, Derek has served on the Finance Administration Roundtable Board of Directors and as president of the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D.C., which earned the Dartmouth “Club of the Year” Award under his leadership. He has also been honored as the Dartmouth Club “President of the Year” and has served on the Dartmouth Alumni Council.

Emily Perry Short is currently the National Director of Cyber Product at Baldwin Risk Partners, regularly consulting on cyber risk management and insurance solutions across a variety of industries focusing on technology, venture capital and private equity risks. 
 
Emily has been in insurance in a variety of forms since 2014, originally as a lawyer focusing on professional liability insurance defense.  She graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and then attended the University of Kansas School of Law where she obtained a certificate in advocacy work along with her Juris Doctor.  In addition to her Juris Doctor, Emily holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) designation, Cyber COPE designation from Carnegie Mellon and the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation.  

Jonathan Roy is the Director of Security and Compliance and has been providing IT and cybersecurity services with designDATA since 2004. In his roles, he has provided senior engineering and project management services for hundreds of projects and has overseen all systems administration functions, spanning dozens of system administrators for over one hundred corporate networks. He has extensive experience in information technology best practices, the ITIL framework for running IT operations, and how to secure IT environments. Jonathan now focuses exclusively on cybersecurity, data privacy, and related regulatory compliances for designDATA customers. He works regularly with business leaders on risk mitigation and avoidance, cybersecurity consulting, incident response and recovery, incident preparedness, and compliance audits. 

Anthony joins Coalition as an experienced Sales Representative with a demonstrated history of working in computer networking. He was previously at Aruba Networks and Zones IT Solutions handling enterprise and mid-market accounts. He brings an IT skill set and experience cultivated from two of the top global IT solution providers in their respective markets. 

Zac joins Coalition after a career as a Cyber and Technology Errors & Omissions broker and producer for Aon and Arthur J. Gallagher. During that time he consulted directly for organizations ranging from the smallest pre-revenue SMEs to fortune 500 companies, helping them navigate a volatile threat landscape and cyber insurance market. Zac has extensive experience with just about every industry vertical, as well as the products and services of a majority of cyber insurers. Acting as a breach response coordinator, cybersecurity & compliance specialist, panel speaker, and cyber consultant for some of the largest firms in the world, he brings a unique skill set to bear for Coalition and its’ policyholders.
